The Axeman Speaks 8-24-07

The opinions expressed in this column do not necessarily reflect the opinion of Hollywood Jimmy Blaylock, the Webmaster, or anyone else connected with this site. They are mine, and mine alone. If you agree with me, OK, and if you don’t, that’s OK. The fact is, when Axeman writes, everybody reads it. Live with it.

OK, hoping not to appear too arrogant, I will attempt to write a column that David & Gene will be able to rip to shreds....

The Benoit case remains moderately interesting with an almost constant string of twists, turns, and developments. Now Dr. Steroid's attorney has filed a motion to suppress evidence seized in raids on Dr. Steroid's office. The doctor's attorney, Manny Arora, claims that government investigators did not tell the judge who signed the search warrants about the legit uses of steroids. Oh puhleeeez! Sounds like Mr. Arora is grasping at straws. Arora further claims that the government should have consulted with a doctor who specializes in hormone disorders, who, he theorizes, would have told them that the amount of steroids Benoit was receiving from Dr. Steroid was perfectly PROPER for the medical condition being treated. The motion, however, did not mention what that condition was. It seems to me that he should save all this for the courtroom, but what do I know, I am not a lawyer. The drama continues....

I was disappointed to learn that Mike Jones had left RPW. I was really looking forward, as I stated on the news board, to working with him and seeing what kind of antics he had up his sleeve for the coming weeks. I do wish Brody well as he tries to re-build his wrestling organization.

More news about Karlene Boutwell vs. WWE & Sandman has hit the net. You will recall that Boutwell filed suit against WWE and Sandman claiming he committed assault and battery against her while coming to the ring through the crowd in August of '06. Even though WWE has furnished Boutwell with video evidence of Sandman's ring entrance that night in an attempt to get her to go away, Boutwell refuses to drop the suit. So... hi ho, hi ho, it's off to court they go... Either there is a lot more to this than meets the eye at this point, or Boutwell is a candidate for YOU CAN'T FIX STUPID. We'll see. (Partial Credit to PWInsider.com via Wrestleview.com).

WWE RAW match results from Monday night: Mickie James & Candice Michelle defeated Melina & Beth Phoenix. Cody Rhodes defeated Shelton Benjamin. Paul London & Brian Kendrick defeated Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch in a non-title match. Mr. Kennedy vs. Carlito ended in a "double pin draw." John Cena defeated Snitsky. It was a ho hum edition of RAW, so I will not bother to comment on any of the matches. I did, however, think Tazz & JR did a good job. I do not, think WWE should break up the Lawler & Jim Ross announce team. There is considerable speculation that WWE will do so, and that Lawler will go to ECW. Why fix it if it ain't broken? Lawler & JR do an excellent job on RAW. You may recall that Vince tried to do without Lawler on RAW once before and ended up bringing him back.

The more I investigate the antics of GQ Maxim, the more bizarre this guy's life seems. I'm telling you, the guy ain't right. After GQ and his wife got married, Mrs. Maxim insisted that GQ accompany her on her trips to Wal-Mart. Unfortunately, GQ is like most men - he finds shopping boring and prefers to get in, buy what he came for, and get out. Equally unfortunately, Mrs. Maxim is like most women - she loves to browse and just has to look at darn near everything in the entire store. One day Mrs. Maxim received the following letter from Wal-Mart:

Dear Mrs. Maxim,

Over the past six months, your husband has been causing quite a commotion in our store. We cannot tolerate this behavior and may be forced to ban both of you from the store. Our complaints against Mr. Maxim are listed below and are documented by our video surveillance cameras.

June 15: Took 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in people's carts when they weren't looking.

July 2: Set all the alarm clocks in Housewares to go off at 5-minute intervals.

July 7: Made a trail of tomato juice on the floor leading to the women's restroom.

August 4: Went to the Service Desk and tried to put a bag of M&M's on layaway.

September 14: Moved a "CAUTION - WET FLOOR" sign to a carpeted area.

September 15: Set up a tent in the camping department and told other shoppers he'd invite them in if they would bring pillows and blankets from the bedding department.

September 23: When a clerk asked if they could help him he began crying and screamed, "Why can't you people just leave me alone?"

October 4: Looked right into the security camera and used it as a mirror while he picked his nose.

November 10: While handling guns in the hunting department, he asked the clerk where the anti-depressants were.

December 3: Darted around the store suspiciously while loudly humming the " Mission Impossible" theme.

December 18: Hid in a clothing rack and when people browsed through, yelled "PICK ME! PICK ME!"

December 21: When an announcement came over the loudspeaker, he assumed a fetal position and screamed "OH NO! IT'S THOSE VOICES AGAIN!"

And last, but not least...

December 23: Went into a fitting room, shut the door, waited awhile, then yelled very loudly, "Hey! There's no toilet paper in here!"

Please, Mrs. Maxim, control your husband.

Regards,

Walmart

Well, like I said, GQ ain't right. They're coming to take him away, ha ha, they're coming to take him away, ha ha ho ho hee hee, to the funny farm, where life is sweet, and he'll be glad to see those nice young men in their clean white coats when they come to take him away, ha ha!

ECW match results from Tuesday night: Big Daddy V defeated Tommy Dreamer. Balls Mahoney defeated Elijah Burke. John Morrison & The Miz defeated CM Punk & The Boogeyman. Only 3 matches on the entire show. Over all, I would give the show a C-minus. ECW lately has been missing something. The show just bores me.

That's all for now. One more column finished. One less column to go before the Axeman speaks for the last time. How many more columns will there be? Stay tuned....

Axeman Speaks, 8-23-07

The opinions expressed in this column do not necessarily reflect the opinion of Hollywood Jimmy Blaylock, the Webmaster, or anyone else connected with this site. They are mine, and mine alone. Now, I don't want to appear to be arrogant by saying that, and if I appear to be arrogant, please forgive me. If you agree with me, OK, and if you don’t, that’s OK. Really, I hope I did not offend anyone by saying that. The fact is, when Axeman speaks, everybody listens, and if you don’t like it, you can kiss the posterior part of my anatomy. Oh, never mind, I will delete that from future columns, because I do not want to appear arrogant. Live with it. Maybe that is too strong. Please be tolerant of people with opinions that may or may not agree with yours.

Greetings, friends, enemies, critics, haters, readers all....

I will try very hard to keep this as short as possible. You see, I do not want to appear to be arrogant. You see, Gene and David think I am arrogant. So I must endeavor to project a new image, one of a passive, non-aggressive individual who really has no opinion, otherwise they will think I am being arrogant.

I would like to address David Burcham's mud slinging in his column. You see, he slung all that mud at me, but I just took a bath and washed it all off. Oh, I hope that was not too arrogant.

First of all, David says I do not give credit for the stuff I post. This is not the case, especially lately since Jimmy started Wrestling News Center. I do not give credit if I use something that is emailed to me or given to me by a source who wants to remain anonymous. I hope that did not sound too arrogant.

David is right that I posted my response to Gene on the news board. I did so because Gene posted his tirade on BT's news board. I could have posted it in my column. Oh, woe is me, Burcham thinks I am arrogant. Funny, he didn't criticize Gene for doing the same thing.

David says I come across as if I feel like I am owed something. Oh, I guess that means I am arrogant, oh, the horror of it. What could I possibly be owed? By whom? I would like to collect if I am owed anything, if that is not too arrogant.

Then David starts talking about the "doubts" he has about me. Yep, I guess that means I am arrogant. Oh, what a miserable wretch I must be. I know this may come across as arrogant, but I don't give a rat's ass what he "doubts." He has apparently kept a detailed list of every error I have ever made. Oh my God, that means he has a record of every time I was arrogant! It sounds like maybe he thinks... No, he couldn't think... Well, he has obviously made a list... He has obviously checked it twice... He has a record of every time I have been naughty or nice... Could he possibly be... Oh, tell me he ain't... Well, he's fat enough (not that I am far behind)... Oh NOOOOOOOOOOOOO... I've pissed off Santa! Oh, the misery of it all! I will get lumps of coal in my stocking forever! Oh, no, all because I was arrogant.

Well, since I am arrogant, let me say it this way: Sling all the mud you want to sling. Sling it until you are satisfied. Attack me in every possible forum. I have said it all before, and I say it again. David is a BETTER WRITER than I am. He is a BETTER ANNOUNCER than I am. I admire his accomplishments. He is extremely highly educated. He would have to be, how many years did he go to ICC, maybe ten? He is a very accomplished artist. His work has been published... in a real book! He has bragged about it on this site and everywhere else he could. He was the first writer on this site. He points that out on occasion, too. Although he comes across as a snob and a prissy braggart when he talks about all his accomplishments, he is not arrogant. No, not at all. And in spite of all this, I still like David. I do not know why, and God knows I should not after his mud slinging, but I do like the guy, even if he hates me.

The problem between me and David all started one Friday night at MUWA, when he showed me a picture. I do not even remember who was in the picture. Well, I was in a playful mood, so I slipped it into a trash can. Mind you, I did not hurt the picture in any way. He got it out of the trash can, and did he ever get PISSY! You would have thought I had stolen his supper or something. I had no idea that picture was something sacred to him. He has not forgiven me yet. I was playing around. I meant no offense. I have told him I am sorry on several occasions. Since that night, however, David has disliked me. Oh, well, Santa, I guess I was arrogant.

It is time for the mud slinging to stop.

I know David and Gene wish I would just go away. Well, they will get their wish soon. I have been thinking about getting out for a while. It just is not fun any more. My wife wishes I would get out, too. She is getting tired of me being gone every Friday & Saturday night, and she is tired of all the time I spend sitting in front of the computer typing columns, results, and other stuff for the new news board. She has a point. There is more to life than wrestling. On the grand scale of things, wrestling is last on the list of what is important. I have commitments that I need to honor. When those commitments have been taken care of, and they eventually will be at some point in the future, the Axeman will speak for the last time. I love wrestling, but it just is not fun anymore. Until then... David and Gene, please forgive me... because I know this will sound arrogant... but until then... love me or hate me... you will just have to put up with me.

The Axeman Speaks 8-16-07

The opinions expressed in this column do not necessarily reflect the opinion of Hollywood Jimmy Blaylock, the Webmaster, or anyone else connected with this site. They are mine, and mine alone. If you agree with me, OK, and if you don’t, that’s OK. The fact is, when Axeman speaks, everybody listens, and if you don’t like it, you can kiss the posterior part of my anatomy. Live with it.

This will be just a short column. There are a couple of topics I want to cover.

BTW, I will be on vacation this weekend in Missouri. I will not be posting results or news until I get back Tuesday.

A member of the Untied States Congress, specifically Rep. Cliff Stearns of the Commerce, Trade & Consumer Protection Subcommittee, has requested that TNA Wrestling and the National Wrestling Alliance turn over documents outlining their "drug-testing policies and efforts to detect and prevent the use of steroids and other drugs."

When asked why he was taking this action, Stearns said, "After I called for congressional hearings on the use of steroids and other drugs in professional wrestling, I have heard from wrestlers that steroids, pain killers, and other drugs are used frequently in the industry. Trafficking in steroids and other drugs is a felony and their use without a prescription is also a crime. In addition to ensuring that our laws are respected, Congress has a responsibility to protect young people from the harmful impact of drug use in pro wrestling. Some 1 million children under the age of 11 watch pro wrestling and many emulate the wrestlers they see."
(Partial Credit: http://www.wrestleview.com).

Now, I really don't know what, if any, policies NWA has on drug use, or what efforts they have made to stop the use of steroids and/or other illegal substances. TNA, on the other hand, has talked about implementing a wellness policy, but, to my knowledge, has not done so. The talk of implementing a wellness policy may be too little, too late. It will be interesting to find out what, if anything, TNA turns over to Stearns.

Changing the subject, I read in a post by D-Rock on the Wrestling News Center that Byron Robertson, better known in wrestling as The Missing Link, is very ill with cancer. I want to wish him the very best. I first saw The Missing Link at a Mid-South show at Barton Coliseum in Little Rock. After his match he did two diving head butts onto a chair in the ring. On a later show in Little Rock, his manager invited fans to come to ringside and give him chair shots to the forehead. He was one of the wildest, most unpredictable wrestlers I have ever seen. I'm telling you, that guy just wasn't right, LOL. He was very entertaining, and while he wrestled heel in most places, the fans loved him in Little Rock. Hang in there, Dewey. Get well soon. By the way, if you have not read D-Rock's post about The Missing Link, check it out. It's a good read.

An Irishman, a Mexican and GQ Maxim were doing construction work on scaffolding on the 20th floor of a new building. They were eating lunch and the Irishman said, "Corned beef and cabbage! If I get corned beef and cabbage one more time for lunch, I'm going to jump off this building." The Mexican opened his lunch box and exclaimed, "Burritos again! If I get burritos one more time, I'm jumping too." GQ Maxim opened his lunch and said, "Bologna again! If I get a bologna sandwich one more time, I'm jumping too." The next day, the Irishman opened his lunch box, saw corned beef and cabbage, and jumped to his death. The Mexican opened his lunch, saw a burrito, and jumped, too. GQ Maxim opened his lunch, saw the bologna, and jumped to his death as well. At the funeral, the Irishman's wife was weeping. She said, "If I'd known how really tired he was of corned beef and cabbage, I never would have given it to him again!" The Mexican's wife also wept and said, "I could have given him tacos or enchiladas! I didn't realize he hated burritos so much." Everyone turned and stared at GQ's wife. GQ's wife said, "Don't look at me! He always made his own lunch."

From time to time I add something to this column that has absolutely nothing to do with wrestling. This is one of those tomes. You see, this is my blog, and I can post anything here that I want to, and YOU, dear readers, will read it, even if only out of curiosity. And besides, if David Burcham can talk about topics that are not wrestling related, so can I. Seriously, I found it interesting, so I thought you might also. Here it is:

The Story of Two Houses
House #1: A 20 room mansion (not including 8 bathrooms) heated by natural gas. Add on a pool (and a pool house) and a separate guest house, all heated by gas. In one month this residence consumes more energy than the average American household does in a year. The average bill for electricity and natural gas runs over $2400. In natural gas alone, this property consumes more than 20 times the national average for an American home. This house is not situated in a Northern or Midwestern "snow belt" area. It's in the South.

House #2: Designed by an architecture professor at a leading national university, this house incorporates every "green" feature current home construction can provide. The house is 4,000 square feet (4 bedrooms) and is nestled on a high prairie in the American southwest. A central closet in the house holds geothermal heat-pumps drawing ground water through pipes sunk 300 feet into the ground. The water, usually 67 degrees F., heats the house in the winter and cools it in the summer. The system uses no fossil fuels such as oil or natural gas and it consumes one-quarter electricity required for a conventional heating/cooling system. Rainwater from the roof is collected and funneled into a 25,000 gallon underground cistern. Waste water from showers, sinks and toilets goes into underground purifying tanks and then into the cistern. The collected water then irrigates the land surrounding the house. Surrounding flowers and shrubs native to the area enable the property to blend into the surrounding rural landscape.

HOUSE #1 is outside of Nashville, Tennessee. It is the abode of "environmentalist" Al Gore.

HOUSE #2 is on a ranch near Crawford, Texas. It is the residence of the of the President of the United States, George W. Bush.

I will be back some time next week with another update.

That’s all for this week. If you have any comments, feedback, criticism, insults, compliments, or whatever, email me at axemanchopchop@yahoo.com. Maybe I will respond. Maybe I will not. Try me and see!

The Axeman Speaks 8-14-07

The opinions expressed in this column do not necessarily reflect the opinion of Hollywood Jimmy Blaylock, the Webmaster, or anyone else connected with this site. They are mine, and mine alone. If you agree with me, OK, and if you don’t, that’s OK. The fact is, when Axeman speaks, everybody listens, and if you don’t like it, you can kiss the posterior part of my anatomy. Live with it.

Greetings, Axmaniacs! How do you like this, two columns in the same week! Who knows, we might just make it three! You never know.

We will start things off with another edition of YOU CAN'T FIX STUPID! This time we will feature Friedrich Riesfeldt, a zoo keeper in Paderborn, Germany, who fed his constipated elephant 22 doses of animal laxative and more than a bushel of berries, figs and prunes before the plugged-up pachyderm finally let it fly, and suffocated the keeper under 200 pounds of poop! Investigators say ill-fated Friedrich, 46, was attempting to give the ailing elephant an olive oil enema when the beast unloaded on him. "The sheer force of the elephant's unexpected defecation knocked Mr. Riesfeldt to the ground where he struck his head on a rock and lay unconscious as the elephant continued to evacuate his bowels on top of him," said flabbergasted Paderborn police detective Erik Dern. With nobody there to help him, he lay under all that dung for at least an hour before a watchman came along, and during that time he suffocated. It seems to be just one of those freak accidents that proves... "Shit happens."

I received a very strange email today concerning the write-up I did on the passing of Bronko Lubich. It was from a guy named Marcus Tanner, and he asked: "You missed the most important point about Bronko Lubich. You barely even mentioned that he held the American Heavyweight Championship in WCCW for a while. Why?"

Well, sport, I did not remember anything about him holding that belt, that's why. The reason I did not remember anything about it because he never held that belt. Perhaps you have him confused with Boris Malenko. He held the belt for a while, but as far as I can tell, Lubich never did.

Yet another death in wrestling has occurred. Bryan Adams was found dead Monday morning by his wife. He was only 43. Adams worked in WWE and WCW, among other places. He is best remembered as Crush, a member of Demolition, along with Bill "Axe" Eadie and Barry "Smash" Darsow. In WCW, he was a member of the NWO, but his greatest success came when he was teamed with Bryan Clark in a new team called KroniK. They held the WCW Tag Team Championship two times. Thanks for the memories, Bryan Adams. RIP.

I just cannot get over how Adam "Pac Man" Jones has managed to get into wrestling without actually doing anything. He has even gotten involved in a story line. Since the Tennessee Titans blocked his doing any wrestling, he will be all talk and no action, unless he decides to tell the team to kiss off and wrestles anyway. Frankly, as vain and smug as the guy is, that would not surprise me. I must say that TNA played their cards right with the angle they have him involved in. He gets a warning to "watch your back" from Ron Killings, then later is found unconscious in the back having been beaten up. He was then taken from the building by ambulance. You gotta love the angle. You gotta appreciate the creativity and the booking. TNA is making the most out of what they have with Jones, which ain't much.

I read on BT's site that Sam Whiskers, a referee for JWS in Jumpertown was taken from the arena Saturday by ambulance with a heat stroke. According to the report his heart stopped twice en route to the hospital. He was later transferred to the hospital in Corinth, where he remains hospitalized. I wish him a speedy recovery. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

WWE RAW match results: Mr. Kennedy defeated The Sandman. Cade & Murdoch defeated Cryme Tyme. Snitsky defeated Robby McAllister. Cody Rhodes defeated Charlie Haas. John Cena & Umaga defeated Randy Orton & Carlito. The only decent match on the entire show was the main event. Maybe I am in the minority, but Cryme Tyme is just not getting the job done, in my opinion. The WWE Idol segment was stupid. The Lawler - Booker segment was boring. The illegitimate child angle is OK, but the cat is pretty much out of the bag as to who the illegitimate son is, which makes it less entertaining. No ladies on the card, now that's a shame. The entire show, except Cena & Umaga vs. Carlito & Orton, was boring. One bright spot in the show was the announcement that HHH will return at the next PPV to take on Booker. That should be a good match.

Recently overheard in an argument between GQ Maxim and his wife:
GQ: When I get mad at you, you never fight back. How do you control your anger?
GQ's WIFE: I clean the toilet.
GQ: How does that help?
GQ's WIFE: I use your toothbrush.

That’s all for now.

The Axeman Speaks 8-12-07

The opinions expressed in this column do not necessarily reflect the opinion of Hollywood Jimmy Blaylock, the Webmaster, or anyone else connected with this site. They are mine, and mine alone. If you agree with me, OK, and if you don’t, that’s OK. The fact is, when Axeman speaks, everybody listens, and if you don’t like it, you can kiss the posterior part of my anatomy. Live with it.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys & girls, children of all ages, welcome to another edition of The Axeman Speaks. Lots to talk about this week, so let's cut to the chase....

How do you like the new look of the column? I would like to thank Tia for her assistance in all the changes.

First things first... I would like to take this opportunity to welcome two new contributors to the wrestling News Center. They are Stro and "Big Daddy" Storm. Both are excellent writers, and I look forward to reading their posts. If you have not seen their recent articles on the news board, check 'em out.

In my last column I talked about Lacey Von Erich joining WWE. She has recently reported to the WWE developmental organization in Florida. I will keep you posted as to her progress in the weeks to come.

I have intended to write a paragraph or two about the state of indy wrestling for several months, but have just not gotten around to it. I will not put it off any longer. Here we go....

I will start this segment about the state of indy wrestling with the quote of the week: "I am so sick and tired of being sick and tired of what is happening to the business that I have dedicated my entire adult life too. All of the drops of blood, sweat and tears that I have left on canvas' around the world will make it all worthwhile if I can just look back and see that the upcoming generation will ensure the propagation of the 'King of Sports.' Unfortunately, that isn't the case. I turn my head and look behind me and see that some independent promoters and talents are doing nothing but eradicating the legacy that myself and my peers have worked so hard to establish." -- Percy Pringle.

Several years ago Percy Pringle (real name William Moody) started a wrestling organization called Gulf South Wrestling. The organization was moderately successful and had a 22 month run, but it was not without problems. In a nutshell, Pringle closed GSW down a while back because of just that type of cancer he described above that is eating away at professional wrestling today. The attitude among many indy workers today is, "I want to do it all my way, I don't care what anyone wants or thinks." In Pringle's own words, from his blog: "Basically, the feeling was let’s get rid of Moody then we can do things our way."

Unfortunately, this is the attitude of many workers in indy organizations all across the country. Young punks who think they know it all, when they really do not know anything. In GSW's case, these guys had a golden opportunity. They had an individual in Percy Pringle who has been around the wrestling business just about all his life. He has worked in places like World Class Wrestling and WWE and all over. They had a golden opportunity to learn from this man. However, some wanted to do things their way, and considered Pringle to be a hindrance. Pringle finally had enough and shut his group down.

Now, I am not saying that all indy workers are guilty. There are some workers who are truly professionals. They will go out there and do what they are asked to do, and they don't belly ache about it. These are the guys who have learned from those who came before them, have paid their dues, and who have some respect for the business. These are NOT the workers I am talking about.

I am talking about the whining, selfish, "it's all about me and screw you" workers in indy wrestling who have never paid any dues and seem to want it all on a silver platter. I heard a young worker in a dressing room not long ago saying that if he was going to have to put another worker over, he was not coming back, because it was making him look bad and holding him back. I heard another worker just the other day bitching about the finish to a match and the angle he was involved in. Over and over and over again I hear the whining and snotting and crying from young guys who think they are ready for a belt around their waist, when what they really need is to shut up, learn a thing or two from guys who have been around for a while, and pay some dues. The world of wrestling does not revolve around you egotistical morons.

Another problem that plagues wrestling is promoters. I have heard promoters tell their workers that they cannot work for any other organization but theirs. I have seen promoters get mad and say that if a worker works for a certain other promotion then he is fired. I have seen workers get pissed off at the promoter of an organization he is working at, then go get his own promoter's license and open up a show down the road from where he was working. These guys are doing as much damage to indy wrestling as anyone else.

In the words of Percy Pringle: "I’ve seen it so many times. Wrestling destroys the very fabric of lifelong friendships, marriages, and lives. So many of my brothers have fallen by the wayside, and I vow that it will not happen to me. If I let it happen it would be a slap in the face of those that have put their trust and respect in me. So I decided to dissolve the GULF SOUTH WRESTLING Corporation completely. Friends, I saw this coming a long time ago. I just couldn’t allow it to steal anymore of my time." Unfortunately, that is the state of the majority of the indy wrestling scene.

There is hope, however, and I am encouraged by a number of indy organizations that are doing well and are being run right. These groups are being run by individuals who will not put up with the crap I have talked about above. These are organizations like All Pro, Wrestle Birmingham, ASWF, CWA, Championship Wrestling, Ring of Honor, and Chikara. Indy workers and promoters around the country need to take a long, hard look at these groups and see what makes them successful and then make some changes. Then maybe wrestling will be able to make a comeback.

OK, on to other things....

I was especially saddened to hear of the death yesterday of Bronko Lubich. Bronk was a friend to me in my younger days, and was someone who I truly admired and respected. He was never too busy to answer questions or help anyone who needed it. Lubich began his pro wrestling career in the late 1940's. Early in his career he was the valet/manager for Angelo Poffo. Later, he was best known for his in ring work as a tag team wrestler, teaming with Aldo Bogni, and later with Chris Markoff. When his in ring career was finally over, he became one of the most highly respected and sought after referees in the business. As a referee, he commanded respect in the ring. In fact, he is probably best remembered as a referee in World Class Wrestling. He was a solid, trustworthy, professional in every way. When he finally retired, he and his wife, Ella, intended to travel and enjoy retirement, but it was not to be. Both he and his wife were ill for a long time, and she passed away in 2004. Bronko Lubich passed away on August 11, 2007, in Dallas after a long illness. He is survived by his three daughters, Kathy, Maria, and Melanie, and their families. A true wrestling legend is gone. Thanks, Bronko Lubich, for the memories. R.I.P.

That’s all for this week. If you have any comments, feedback, criticism, insults, compliments, or whatever, email me at axemanchopchop@yahoo.com. Maybe I will respond. Maybe I will not.

THE AXEMAN SPEAKS

August 7, 2007

The opinions expressed in this column do not necessarily reflect the opinion of Hollywood Jimmy Blaylock, the Webmaster, or anyone else connected with this site. They are mine, and mine alone. If you agree with me, OK, and if you don’t, that’s OK. The fact is, when Axeman speaks, everybody listens, and if you don’t like it, you can kiss the posterior part of my anatomy. Live with it.

Greetings, Axmaniacs! We’ll cut right to the chase this week….

We’ll start with RAW results from Monday night: Vince McMahon returned to RAW and the ratings immediately went up. WHY? I guess it’s because he is such a giant a$# h@1e. Anyway, William Regal won a 20 Man Battle Royal to become the new General Manager of Raw. Regal has as much personality as a prune. Snitsky destroyed Rory McAllister. Jillian Hall defeated Mickie James. Please, Vince, don’t let her sing any more. King Booker defeated Jerry Lawler. It ain’t over between these two. John Cena def. Umaga by DQ. Carlito and Orton came in to give Cena a beating. Umaga turned on them. Umaga & Cena will be partners next week against Carlito & Orton. Unaga is now a babyface?! Oh, by the way, the dating game segment was so stupid I mention it only to say that Santino Marella did turn heel. Like I said last time, it is WWE. Things just get more bizarre every day….

Imagine my surprise and delight when I received a phone call tonight and was told to look at another site and saw an article about a Von Erich. Not just any Von Erich. This is a special Von Erich, Lacey.

Lacey Adkisson is 21 years old and has just signed with WWE, according to a post on another site, and according to an entry on her My Space site. So, my friends, there is once again a Von Erich in wrestling! I predict she will have a much bigger following than her dad (Kerry) or her grandfather (Fritz) ever did. I also sincerely hope the dysfunction and sad history of the Von Erich family does not follow her. You see, she’s special. Why, you ask. Well, she’s GORGEOUS! She obviously did not get her looks from her dad! Good heavens (drool) she’s beautiful!

Needless to say, I wish her much good fortune and much success in her wrestling career. You can bet I will be following her career very, very closely, whether she will be wrestling or whether she will be eye candy.

OK, let’s talk about TNA. Reports abound on the net that TNA will be finalizing plans to go to a two hour format at some point in the fall, probably at the first of October. TNA’s deal with Spike expires at the end of September. I hope TNA pulls it off.

There has also been considerable talk and speculation that TNA will institute a drug testing program at some point in the fall. All I can say about that is it’s about time.

TNA has also signed Adam “Pac Man” Jones. What will he be doing? They didn’t say. Why did they sign him? They didn’t say. Will he be wrestling? I doubt it, because, even though he is currently suspended, it would be a violation of his pro football contract. So just what will this fool be doing? I guess we will find out Thursday on Impact. What was TNA thinking?!

Speaking of Impact, here are match results from last week: Team 3D defeated Chris Harris and Eric Young. Senshi and Christopher Daniels defeated Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt. Abyss & Sting defeated Christopher cage & AJ Styles in a ladder match with help from Andrew “Test” Martin.

This week’s humor was sent in by Denise Blaylock: Ever wondered what happens when Hallmark writers are having a bad day....

My tire was thumping.
I thought it was flat.
When I looked at the tire...
I noticed your cat.
Sorry!

Heard your wife left you,
How upset you must be.
But don't fret about it...
She moved in with me.

Looking back over the years
that we've been together,
I can't help but wonder...
"What the hell was I thinking?"

I've always wanted to have
someone to hold, someone to love.
After having met you...
I've changed my mind.
OK, enough of Hallmark writers gone mad, lol....

My next column will be about the sad state of indy wrestling, among other things. Be sure to check out part one of the interview I did recently with Studd posted on my In the Spotlight column. Part two will be up this weekend. There is also an interview I did recently with Snowman posted on the news board.

That’s all for this week. If you have any comments, feedback, criticism, insults, compliments, or whatever, email me at axemanchopchop@yahoo.com. Maybe I will respond. Maybe I won’t. Try me and see!

The Axeman has spoken.
